Rationale
Catholic Schools take pride in the importance in which it draws to the Catholic faith. Therefore after baptism, within the Catholic School setting the importance of teaching about the Eucharist is evident as it relates to the school wide communities personal beliefs and values. Teaching of the Eucharist provides experiences for the child to reconnect or evangelize themselves with the Catholic Faith and more intimately, Christ. Because Christ himself is present in the sacrament of the altar, he is to be honored with the worship of adoration. "To visit the Blessed Sacrament is ... a proof of gratitude, an expression of love, and a duty of adoration toward Christ our Lord." Through the explicit teachings of The Eucharist students are able to further expand their understandings that it is in true fact the source and summit of the Catholic Life. In relation to the Eucharist in general and the receiving of the Body and Blood it is to impart how to live and lead a life as our Christ Jesus did.
